This week’s Woman of the Week is especially special – say that 5 times fast. Nicole Cammett is the creator of Aroma Reiki, a shop of natural, home remedies made from essential oils and herbs. Aroma Reiki aims to heal the mind, body & spirit and teach people how to treat themselves to self care.
How did Nicole get to where she is?
“I jumped back and forth between majors in college and wasn’t sure my path for the future. I joined the military my sophomore year of college, and once I returned I continued my education in wellness management and holistic health. As I got more and more involved in my major I started to conduct my own research and would teach myself more on holistic healing and care – like energy healing, crystals, herbs and essential oils.
I started my business during my senior year of college. I was juggling being a full-time student, a part-time job and military duties monthly on top of starting my own company. At this time I was figuring out what exactly I wanted to do with all the knowledge I’ve learned and how to apply it into my own business. Then I proceeded to become certified in Reiki and went all the way up to a Reiki master with holy fire level two.
I wanted to learn it all, so I took on an internship at an herbal school that turned into an apothecary, too. I was so lucky to be a part of the birth of putting it together and help open up the apothecary shop.
From there I was fully inspired, and my business cracked wide open with idea after idea! Now I work full time with the military while running my own business in hopes that one day my company will become a wellness center that offers all kinds of different healing modalities. Everyone heals differently and they deserve to find their mind, body and spirit balance.”
We find Nicole’s story fascinating. It really speaks to following and pursuing your passion and being open to wherever it takes you.
Nicole was also kind enough to answer our favorite, thoughtful questions…
Favorite Book: “The Hobbit”
Favorite Beverage: “Tea is my favorite beverage. I drink all kinds of tea, but I always end up drinking about 5 cups of green tea a day.”
What are you passionate about? “I’m really passionate about helping and healing people and animals. My goal one day is to have my own wellness center that is not only for people but animals too. We all need healing in our own way.”
What do you do really, really well? “I’m very creative. I’m a hands-on/visual person. Being able to let my imagination run wild and work with my hands to create something magical is my favorite thing.”
If you could do anything with your time (regardless of obligations and finances), what would you do? “I would travel the world and volunteer with animal rescue centers.”
